Chandigarh and its surrounding areas within 50 kms including Sukhna Lake, Ghaggar river and its valley, Berwala Bird Safari, Shivalik Hills, Morni and Kalka hills is very rich in  bird life, though is a poorly birded region. The area covers plains, agricultural fields, gardens, river and Shivalik hills upto 1200+ meters ht. This is the first draft of Chandigarh birds based on birding observations by both authors and others.
